Top Problem SolvedMinutes before a wedding ceremony was to begin, the transformer blew in front of the church and the power went out. The church was very traditional and had strict restrictions with the photographer and videographer forcing them to stand against the back wall where they often missed portions of the ceremony due to distance and when the guests were standing. When the lights went out, I found hundreds of candles in the church office and proceeded to light up the area where the guests were seated by candlelight, but the alter was still extremely dark. I convinced the priest that he allow the videographer to stand over his shoulder shining the camera's light so that he could read. The couple ended up with the most beautiful video of their ceremony that captured every detail as a result and they were absolutely thrilled.
My Favorite BNI StoryAfter experiencing some signficiant attrition in the chapter, dropping from 50+ members to the mid-30s, our Chapter President decided to rally everyone around a common vision. The memory hook "52 by 2/22" was born (52 members by February 22nd). A logo was created, buttons were made, members attached the logo to their e-mail signatures to create curiosity and buzz. Every week the LT spoke inspirationally about the vision and the benefits to the members that would come as a result of hitting their goal. Within 4 months, the chapter grew to 52 members and hit that goal and their membership as remained in the 50s ever since!
